Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to: Director of Operations

Status: Full-time


Primary Purpose:
Our company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to act in a leadership role to improve manufacturing processes and products. We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being an active member of a team. The ideal candidate will multi-task new product and machinery implementation and manufacturing processes improvements, such as sawing, punching, bending, welding, powder coating, and wood machining. The position requires excellent project management coupled with initiative, communication, flexibility, reliability, patience, and attention to detail for varied projects.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensures the manufacturing improvement team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively.
• Ensures that project milestones are met and adhere to budgets.
• Applies product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials experience.
• Becomes qualified to operate existing and future equipment.
• Assures product and process quality by evaluating equipment and tool capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes.
• Collaborates with materials and manufacturing to calculate production, labor, and material costs and estimates gross profit.
• Provides manufacturing technical information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains product and process documentation.
• Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:

• Identify and communicate on topics that may be outside the scope of the Manufacturing Engineer position but contribute to company success.

• 4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Working knowledge of several manufacturing processes.
• Desire to problem solve with and train others in the manufacturing departments.
• Experience making impactful improvements in a metal fabrication company.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competency with the current Solidworks Professional version for sheet metal, and flexible assemblies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, and web applications
Work Environment:
This job operates in a shop office environment, as well as interacts with workers on the production floor. The noise level is typical of production environments, and standard vision, hearing, and footwear PPE is required. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, internet phones, copiers.
Certifications/Licenses: None required.
Travel: Minimal if any.
